truth

I used to always talk to strangers

for it seemed the thing to do

and in doing so I was open

never catering to just a few

for truth we cannot change

no matter how hard we try

even when others don’t understand

how some things are more than meets the eye

so should one be truthful

and always tell it like it is

or blindly follow the deceptive status quo

and fall into that dark abyss

I now understand more clearly

of something I almost lost

and that was my ability to communicate

and even worse its accumulated cost

so I’ll just keep on talking

to help all those in need

and karma will surely follow

‘til in the end truth does succeed
