  poems for a new tomorrow

Up

the eyes have it

Some feel that silence is golden.

But that doesn’t always agree with me.

For a life where one can’t communicate

is not where I care to be.

For there are lots of ways to speak,

through words, and lips, and eyes;

but to me the eyes, they have it,

and one shouldn’t be surprised!

For words can sure get twisted,

and my ass has been kissed before.

But those eyes are harder to deceive

and sometimes harder to ignore.

For behind them lies a person

whom may of never lied before.

but has been dealt so many lines,

to where their trust has actually been shown the door.

So where will this one lead?

Should we really try to guess.

Or relax and let those eyes have it.

For they actually may know what’s best!
