  poems for a new tomorrow

Up

 peter b

there was a man named Peter B
that I will always miss
and what got this all started
was anything but a kiss

for way back when in collage
when I just wanted to get out
I had to pass through Peter B
and to do so required some clout

'twas nothing fancy that transpired
to get me in his class
once there being strongly cautioned
that I may soon be thrown out on my ass

but thrown out was not what happened
from his six hour class you see
for after my first term paper
he was telling the rest of the class to follow me

all because I argued with him and proved him wrong
not an easy thing to do
but after that I had a special friend
that, looking back, was all too few

from there our times were hit and miss
but we would meet again
as he and Keen joined us in Antigua
for a marriage that will never end

so I will never forget you Peter B
your eyes, your laugh, your smile
I just thank God I knew you
even though it was but for a while
