false power

 false power we give to others, when we ask them to lend an ear

hoping to justify our concerns and thus bring about less fear

but sometimes it works the other way, if they corner you to ask

if you think things really should be their way and then they put you to the task?

where you have to stand up to defend something way out of their control

an area they have no business in even though they would love to have a role

but the role they have can be a meddlesome one, one that must go away

so the issue can address itself when it finally can get its day

it’s just that some things won’t change over night, others not at all

while the ones with outside attention wind up anything but small

as it gets pulled out of proportion, twisted around and back

it becomes totally unrecognizable, for it is no longer left intact

and if allowed to change and jell till its new form does take hold

the issue will no longer remain the same, as false power will be in control

where way back in the beginning, when you really meant so well

winds up now creating teams, who finally get to tell

how they feel about said outcome, no matter what you care to say

because once you gave them false power they now could be here to stay

so keep false power out of things that others have no business in

and let things happen when they may and things really could begin
